Hi there two thousand and seventeen 💞
Haven't been blogging for months since Results Day as you can see 😂 but I have always wanted to blog like every week ever since! Have had a lot of things going on and travelled to some places that I would want to share on my blog but not, just yet, however I will get back to that perhaps in summer break (in... like... 6 months time...?). We shall see.
But today, I am taking one fifth of my study time just to share something that I've experienced yesterday. So Angelika and I went to Camden Town just so that we can have some time to ourselves after that terrifying and disastrous maths mock we had last Wednesday. It also happened that I remembered I wanted to change my broken night string lights at Blaze On so this just adds up to the reasons as to why I should go out. And breathe some fresh air.
Long story short, we went there and Blaze On was our first stop. I remembered the owner of the shop very well but I don't think he did since, ya know, he's got lotsa customers himself. So I get it, not offended at all, okay, at all 👐 So I chose my lights to exchange for and I asked,
"Do you happen to have any outlets internationally? As in, in a different country?"
Heee, I'm just tryna give some hints that I'm not a local citizen and that I love his crafts and would like to bring some back to Malaysia and alsoooo, if they're broken can I ever change them like I did yesterday?
"No we don't miss, but we do ship worldwide! Where you from?"
..... and this is where it all started.
You see, I would actually quote the whole conversation but then that would take three quarters of my study time instead of one fifth. But the chat that we had was really interesting, it was short, but it was motivating. It was self-developing and mind opening at the same time that I wish we could actually have a sit-down-and-chat session or like a proper coffee time together, but then again, I don't do coffee (but perhaps some latte would do hehe)
"That's awesome! I was born in Singapore, so hello there my neighbour!"
As you can see, we are very close <3 |
He used the exact same sentence when we met a year or two ago when my mom and I bought the first string lights from him. So he took both Angelika & I on this journey into Malaysia, from the Teh Tarik (pulled tea 😆) actions that mamaks would always do by the road side, to the delicious food we have, to the city of jungle, to Penang, to countries in Southeast Asia that still haven't developed much (but he treasures and loves), to leaving our ego by the doorstep, not being a complete bystander because that is just us being like everyone else when we shouldn't, we should be different from the vast majority of the population on Earth.
As well as from things like trying out a lot of things in life while we are young, while we have the energy to and travelling to places like no other, being exotic, being extraordinary and pursuing whatever we have in mind. Them fresh ideas need to come out and needs to be acted upon because there will be days in the future that we would look back and regret for not acting upon our ideas.

Some deep stuff, alright.
So he finished his speech and he wanted to end this conversation with a goodbye handshake but he fascinatingly and politely asked,
"Can I touch you?"
He is, by far, no doubt, awesome. Hands down, babe. Hands down.
What I have learnt from him is that despite the fact that he is a world traveller, he must have had the experiences and learnt various cultures and religious values throughout his trips. This really made me realise and think twice about what I should do on my next trip to anywhere in the near future.
To just really engage, understand the beauty and the different culture of life in different countries. I need to do this and like stop about just taking some really pointless pictures but start appreciating the architecture of the buildings (which I usually do) in different countries and these important things I'm kinda missing out on.
Blaise had so many thoughts rivering in his head, that he pointed out which sort of harvested a lot of questions in my head to ask what his opinion would be about some of my business ideas that I recently have been thinking of to pursue in the future. But time was really jealous of us and so I thought, lemme just grab a selfie with Blaise. So I did! Ask for one. Then came a lady who (looked A LOT like Jessie J) was just looking around so Blaise thought, okay, lemme just tell her that we're gonna have a selfie real quick and when he did, the lady offered her hand to take a picture of us instead. Thus.... this,
All in all, it was some day for both Angelika & I. We even thought of just dropping to Camden Town again some time to just say Hi to Blaise and catch up. That'll be nice, wouldn't it? I super liked my new lights as well, it would be perfect for my room back in Malaysia inshaAllah. Can't wait to redecorate my room when we get back 😍
So he finished his speech and he wanted to end this conversation with a goodbye handshake but he fascinatingly and politely asked,
"Can I touch you?"
simultaneously gesturing that he wants to handshake me,
"No, but thanks man! Thanks a lot for really, understanding and respecting my beliefs! I'm quite surprised that not only do you know the restrictions, you also respect them 😱"
I MEAN COME ON GUYS, THIS MAN DESERVES A MASSIVE APPLAUSE FROM AN AUDIENCE IN A STADIUM.
